About me:Β

My name is Sasha Raskin. I’m a Number 1 Best Selling Co-Author in 12 Countries, a Doctoral student in Counseling Education and Supervision, a coach, a psychotherapist and an adjunct faculty at a graduate counseling program at Naropa University.Β

One of the things I’m enjoying the most is helping other therapists and coaches build their successful private practice so that they could actually help the clients they were taught to help, and thrive themselves. I’m almost always fully booked, so my ability to work with individuals is limited. That is why I’ve created this program to deliver powerful results and create a community where you will feel supported by each other!Β

This program's primary goal is to help you build a thriving private practice, in a fun and authentic way. Counselors and coaches invest an incredible amount of time, money, and effort into building their helping skills. However, when their training ends, they usually find themselves lacking the business skills that are needed to start and run a successful private practice, feel isolated, discouraged and not knowing where to start.Β

I believe that to be truly helpful to others, therapists and coaches have to learn to thrive themselves and definitely know how to get clients whom they can help.Β

This is where this program comes in. If you're willing to learn and work hard, a 6-figure private practice is within your reach in a year - 2 years. This program will give you a clear outline, and detailed instructions on how to get there.

A new article published in Family Therapy Magazine and collaborating to grow together our businesses

Okay. Hello. This is Sasha Raskin live from Boulder, Colorado. I'll see if I can make this super short because I have a client probably in 10 minutes or so. One quick update - I got my article published in Family Therapy Magazine. And I actually forgot about that submission. And the reason I'm bringing it up ... so first of all, it was about combining contemplative psychotherapy and family therapy which can seem like contradictory modalities but actually they're not.

The reason I'm mentioning that article is because I just got a contact from a therapist saying how meaningful it was for her to read the article and feeling like she shares the same way of doing therapy as I do. And it was great for her to hear that. And that felt so nice, right? It feels really empowering and it feels really nice to have your article published, but just that connection with another therapist that found it valuable - that feels really good to me.

Which brings me to the second part of today's conversation which is moving from economy to eco-nomy - basically growing together, as therapists and coaches, versus sometimes getting into this trap of thinking that we are competitors. The reason I'm bringing it up is because right after I got that contact from the therapist saying she loved the article I went into a private Facebook group for just for the members of our private practice accelerator. By the way, definitely go and check it out in the link that you see on the screen.

And one of the members posted this question about, so this person is doing content marketing, this is something we teach in the program, and he's thinking about interviewing other clinicians. And there's some hesitation there that I felt in terms of, "Okay, if I interview other counselors, I put it on my website and have a link to their website on my website, at my blog, would maybe those potential clients just click away to the other counselors?"

And I want to read out my answer to this member because I think it's important. I would just talk about it but I'm afraid I'll just ramble on and on if I don't just read it and then I'll be late to my client.

"So on a larger scale I think it's great to move from economy to eco-nomy. The cake is big enough and we can all grow together. And interviewing other clinicians or coaches if you're a coach is great and you probably get way more clients from them referring clients to you in the future because an interview is a very powerful way to connect with others. As well as from the improvements to your SEO, search engine optimization that we're learning in the program, and adding value for new content. All of that is more than losing clients when they click away. So as the interviewer by the way you are the expert which adds more value to working with you specifically. And even if someone clicks away you just helped another counselor. And what goes around definitely comes around."

And I've seen it happening so much, literally helping so many colleagues of mine, friends, build their private practice by referring clients to them. And it's been ... I'm not going to even try to pronounce that word. It comes around. It comes back to me.

So if you think about it - building this program, this private practice accelerator, which you should definitely join if you want to grow your practice fast, is me helping my competitors, right? If I help other counselors build their private practice in a way I'm increasing the chances that my potential clients will go to them, right? So that's kind of I guess the scarcity thinking that I might get trapped into. But I'm kept capped, right? There's a limit to me helping with the time that I can see clients and there will always, at least I believe so, be more therapists and coaches out there than the need. Sorry, there will be more need for them ... I should probably change that answer. There would be more need, more clients than therapists and coaches that can help them.

And by the way, if you're doing your marketing right you will be getting more clients than others anyway.

So I hope it's been helpful. I'm going to go and maybe get a little snack before my next client.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments. Let's talk about this. And I'm curious - did you ever feel like you're trapped in this, "Oh, my God, there are so many competitors out there and I feel maybe a little bit hesitant asking for help or talking to other counselors"? Or do you feel like we can all grow together and there are more than enough clients that you can help and I can help?

I hope it's been helpful. If you want to hear more details about our private practice accelerator you can do two things - either go to this link that you see on the screen or literally just message me or comment below and I'll send you all the details. Oh, I'm happy it was helpful. Take care and have a wonderful day.
